Here's how the process works...

Creating a beautiful custom kitchen or bathroom should be exciting—not overwhelming. We'll guide you through the process from your first consultation through the design, ordering, delivery, and installation of your new cabinetry.

1

Meeting & Measuring Appointment

measuringAppt_edited.jpg

Every great design starts with getting to know you and your space.

During your complimentary in-home consultation, we'll discuss what you like—and what you would like to change—about your current kitchen or bathroom. We'll talk about your ideas, style preferences, storage needs, and how you use the space.

We'll also take detailed measurements of your existing layout so we can begin designing cabinetry specifically for your home.

Feel free to share inspiration photos, websites, colors, cabinet styles, or other ideas you've collected. They can be extremely helpful in showing us the look you're hoping to achieve.

Your initial consultation and professional measurements are complimentary.

Planning &
Designing

Next, we'll transform your ideas and measurements into a thoughtful design. Your initial 3D design is also complimentary.

Using professional design software, we'll develop your layout and create personalized 3D renderings that allow you to visualize your new space before your cabinetry is ordered.

We'll work together to refine the design, discuss functionality, and explore cabinetry styles, wood species, finishes, and other details until we've created a plan that fits your home and your needs. Drawings, layouts, and 3D renderings remain the property of Custom Amish Kitchens until you enter into a contract with us. If you decide not to move forward with Custom Amish Kitchens but would like copies of the designs we've created, they may be purchased separately.

Proposal &
Final Selections

Once your design has been developed, we'll prepare a proposal based on the cabinetry and features selected for your project.

Because every kitchen and bathroom is different, your cabinetry is priced according to your actual project specifications—not a predetermined package or stated budget.

Pricing can be affected by factors such as:

  • Number and size of cabinets

  • Wood species

  • Door and overlay style

  • Paint or stain selection

  • Mouldings and trim

  • Accessories and specialty cabinetry

  • Other custom features

We'll review the proposal with you and make sure you understand what's included before moving forward.

Contract &
Final Approval

When you're ready to move forward, we'll prepare the appropriate agreements and final specifications for your project. We will go over all the details and answer any questions you may have.

For stained cabinetry, we can provide one custom stain sample on your selected wood species so you can see and approve the finish before production begins.

Additional custom finish samples will incur a fee.

Before your cabinetry can be scheduled for production, all cabinet specifications, layouts, wood species, and finish selections must be finalized and approved in writing. Completing these approvals promptly helps ensure that your cabinetry can move into production without unnecessary delays.

Once your cabinetry has entered production, changes may no longer be possible. Changes that can be accommodated may result in additional charges and extend the production timeline.

Your Cabinets
in Production

Once payment requirements are complete and all specifications and finish selections have received final written approval, your cabinetry is ready to be scheduled for production.

Each cabinet is individually handcrafted for your project according to the specifications you've approved.

Please allow approximately 8–10 weeks for production once all payment requirements, selections, and final approvals are complete.

Delays in finalizing selections or approving finish samples will delay the start of production and may affect the anticipated delivery and installation schedule.

6

Delivery

Once your cabinetry is complete, we'll coordinate delivery. We always give you a date and window for expected delivery.

For projects within approximately 50 miles of Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, we carefully transport your cabinetry ourselves in an enclosed box trailer. Local delivery is priced separately from the cabinetry.

For projects outside our local delivery area, transportation is provided by an independent freight or trucking company. The customer pays the freight company directly, providing complete transparency regarding the actual transportation cost.

Custom Amish Kitchens only sells cabinetry throughout the United States.

Installation

Professional installation is available for cabinetry purchased through Custom Amish Kitchens, but it is not required.

Our cabinet installations and kitchen and bathroom remodeling services are performed through our relationship with Hazlett Contracting, LLC.

You may also choose to use your own qualified contractor to install your Custom Amish Kitchens cabinetry. Clients are welcome to use their own contractors or tradespeople for plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, flooring, painting, or other portions of their remodeling project.

Please note that we install only cabinetry purchased through Custom Amish Kitchens.

We do not provide installation services for cabinets purchased from other manufacturers or retailers.
